Traditional Burials

For those who would like a traditional burial service, we can advise you of all the options available to you. That’s not to say that you can’t still personalise the day, because we can tailor everything to your exact wants and needs.

We’ve been arranging traditional burial services in Surrey and south west London for nearly half a century, which is why we have such a good reputation in the area.

Because we’ll not only talk you through every option available, we’ll also make sure the day runs just as you would like it to and support you every step of the way.

If a particular faith is to form part of your service, we can help to arrange for a Minister – or maybe you already have your own Minister or priest that you know.

If your preference is a non-religious service, we work with a number of talented celebrants/humanists who can help you to plan a fitting farewell.  Some families just want a ‘light touch’ service where tributes written by the family are readout.  Some families want a eulogy style service where a life story is created.

FAQs

What is the difference between a traditional and lawn grave?

A lawn grave is a headstone only and traditional is a headstone and curb set covering the whole of the grave.

How soon can I put a headstone on a grave?

9-12 months for a traditional grave.  If a lawn grave has a concrete landing you can normally order a headstone right away. In the meantime, we can provide you with a temporary grave marker.

Can you provide a headstone?

Of course, if you would like to choose a memorial headstone please contact memorials@garnersfunerals.com
