A no-fuss service is family led – no minister or celebrant – and is just quiet time in the crematorium chapel, where a choice of music can be played.

Some families sit quietly using the time to reflect, others read out personal tributes – or a final letter they wish they could have written. We can help advise.

This is private family time, that can offer a sense of comfort in a no-fuss but dignified way.

FAQs

Can a family member take the service?

Yes of course. This could be very hard and emotional for family members to do but if you feel you are able to do it, we would give you guidance prior to and on the day.

Can I operate the music at the service?

Yes. Most crematoriums have a digital music system which is easy to operate.

What happens at the committal?

The committal is when you say farewell to your family member. Most crematoriums have a curtain that comes across the coffin but this is optional.

Who will be there to guide me?

The funeral director will be there to guide you through everything. They will show you into the chapel and remain in close proximity during the service. They will also accompany you to the flower terrace to show you the floral tributes, once the service has taken place.
